Lionel Messi talk about conversations with Pep Guardiola and his contract at Barcelona

Lionel Messi has revealed he is in regular contact with Pep Guardiola – but insists they do not talk about a possible transfer away from Barcelona.

“I don’t know how long my last chat with Pep Guardiola was, but we do talk,” Messi told La Sexta. “We don’t talk about whether we are going to meet again. For me Pep is the best, he has something special.”

Asked if he was speaking to anyone about his future, Messi replied: “I’m not negotiating as a free agent with any club.

“As I said, I have nothing clear until the end of the season. Let’s see how we do this season and what happens.”

Messi admitted he did not know if he would leave Barcelona next summer, though ruled out joining any of their Spanish rivals.

“I’m not gonna join Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid,” he added. “It’s absolutely impossible. I don’t know if I’ll leave Barca, I’ll talk about it at the end of the season. I hope to be part of Barcelona as club also when I’ll retire.”
