LA Laker was looking to upgrade their point guard depth by trading for Detriot piston and former NBA MVP derrick rose.
Derrick Rose has resurrected his career with the piston and having his best statistical numbers since his MVP season with the Chicago Bulls.
According to ESPN’S Windhorst, the lakers and the pistons where engage in a serious trade talk about the former MVP but the pistons refused the trade as they believe Rose is an important part of their future moving forward and have no intention of buying him out of his contract, as to what the lakers offered, it is still unknown.
“No, there’s no chance,” Windhorst said, as transcribed by RealGM.
“He’s under contract for next year at a good number. From what I understand, when the Lakers called the Pistons and expressed an interest in trading for Derrick Rose, the Pistons said ‘Hey, we appreciate you calling, but we’re not trading him. Dwane Casey likes him. We think he’s going to be important for us next year.’ He just wasn’t available.”
